Old Town Newhall

Newhall Ice Company was built in 1922 by Fred Lamkin as a warehouse and storage yard. Lamkin came to Newhall in 1917 and opened a garage facing San Fernando Road (now known as Railroad Avenue). Shortly after construction the warehouse was converted into an icehouse which is still in operation today. The property is a rare intact example of an early industrial/commercial building in Santa Clarita.
